Re: Second LMS & wilderness changes bughunter contest
Fixed these:
- Fixes smuggles in general, theoretically
- Player damage is now reset if you leave the LMS instance (via death or any other method). This also applies on deaths outside LMS.
- It's now impossible to receive a Bloody/Bloodier Key outside LMS
- Prevents walking through blockages when following players on adjacent tiles behind the blockage ( )

The new VLS (24617) and the old VLS (40228) still have the same stats on the test server. From my understanding of the update post, the old VLS was supposed to be nerfed, but it still has the stats that it does on the live server.

Re: Second LMS & wilderness changes bughunter contest
Why is there a need to add the maul handle to the drop table of the gargoyles? Super easy to kill npcs, easy to camp, makes no sense.
Why is the maul going to the refund box? That means no handle is ever gonna leave the economy. In theory, you can go do lms till you get 1 maul then you NEVER have to go to the minigame to get another handle.
Even worse, you NEVER HAVE TO GO TO LMS if you just camp gargoyles for the handle.
Remove handle from gargoyles drop table. Make handle turn into dust upon death and drop 750m gp ( unless protected of course ).

I second this. IMO we should only send items to refund as a last resort, if dropping the item on death really isn't an option for some reason.

A basic spec weapon shouldn't be completely locked behind LMS. That'd be as absurd as locking barrage runes behind castle wars or any other minigame. It should still be somewhat easy to get. OSRS has the benefit of scale where there'll always be LMS games happening so players can buy it off the G.E. PKH has the risk that, as cool as the minigame might be, it'll be dead after a week of it releasing. At that point giving new PKers no way to get something as simple as a gmaul would just kill the playstyle tbh.Respire1337 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 27, 2023 1:52 pm Why is there a need to add the maul handle to the drop table of the gargoyles? 750m is already very high. Look at what gmaul with a handle costs on OSRS and what something more desirable like an AGS or claws cost. I get that gmaul is too OP for its cost but how it stands, a gmaul will cost almost as much as claws. New pkers are gonna be stuck barraging PVMers to death for a while because they sure as hell aren't going to KO another pker with a dds lol

too many essential pking items are already a pain to get, theres no need to hinder accessibility to the only cheap and decent spec wep

Ok. But don't send it to refund box, destroy it on death+drop 750m. Re: Second LMS & wilderness changes bughunter contest
Still a bit iffy on the value itself tbh. If ur lucky, you can get claws for that price. A gmaul with a handle should realistically be around 250m tbh. At any drop/refund you also have to take into account that 250m basically went from player A to B, as player A will have to buy their item from refund again. No gp is entering or leaving the eco. With just "dissolve & drop cash unless protected", you've got a direct way of bringing in 250 (or even 750) million GP into the game in exchange for, again, a very basic spec weapon. This ofc assumes regular circumstances where a player would want to get his gmaul out of refund rather than buying 500 with lms points to convert them all into cash.Respire1337 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 27, 2023 4:16 pmOk. I'd be less reluctant towards removing it from refund box & just dissolving it if gargoyles have reasonable droprates for handle & it's valued at far less than 750m. Gmaul is like 50m tops at the moment. This update would make the price 15x higher for essentially the same item. I think it'd have a far better place at ~5x higher than the current price. Gmaul is strong, but if its so strong that it's competing with "real" spec weapons like claws and AGS, that's a balancing/skill issue and shouldn't be resolved by putting gmaul in a similar price range like claws. Especially when you realize a new player has access to virtually no spec weapons besides a dds that will hit 0-0 time after time because we're all lvl 99 def with good gear.
